Francis Albert Sinatra : 1915 - 1998

We received this from Hannah Kirchner:

"No one loves and reveres Frank more than me, but all the platitudes and TV specials were getting to be a bit much. So I thought I'd ease the somberness by submitting an original poem.

Everyone has a Frank story of how he affected their lives, and I could do the same, but I wanted to lighten the scene. Frank will shoot me down with a lightning bolt for sure.

It's too painful to think of Frank gone. I prefer to think that he's kickin' ass and takin' names."

"Cowering Angels"
An original thought by Hannah Ruth Kirchner

Of course, you never realized that God wore a fedora.
And now he is dead.
Gone to "The Big Casino in the Sky,"
where he has demoted
that ominous white-bearded cat
to second banana and occasional card dealer.
(Such games of chance suit Him well.)

And the deceased $2 hookers of the press
had better watch out.

"Yeah, you bums never thought heaven would be like Vegas, didja?"
He snarled at the cowering angels.
"Guess you didn't know Frank Sinatra was comin' to town."

And now every time a bell ring-a-ding-dings,
an angel gets his wings
(and Frank gets a shot of Jack Daniels on the rocks).

Salut!
