To the .org Applicants:



1.  Presentations at the 26 June Public Forum



First, let me extend thanks to each of you on behalf of the ICANN Board

and staff, as well as the ICANN community, for the presentations you 

gave at the ICANN Public Forum on the evening of 26 June 2002 in 

Bucharest.  These presentations were very informative, and should assist 

in the evaluation process.  The output of the real-time captioning is 

now posted at http://www.icann.org/bucharest/captioning-evening-26jun02.htm; if you

find any typographical errors in your presentation, please feel free to

submit them to org-apps@icann.org.



Although we received electronic copies of the visual presentations that 

many of you gave, we can't locate electonic versions of the following

presentations:



    The Global Name Registry, Limited

    The Internet Society (ISOC)

    NeuStar, Inc.

    The .Org Foundation

    Register ORGanization, Inc.



Please send these presentations by e-mail to  as

soon as possible.   If you already sent your presentation and we 

misplaced it, please accept our apologies for the extra effort.



2.  Rebates on Examination Fees



At its meeting on 28 June 2002 in Bucharest, the ICANN Board established 

the final examination fee for .org applications at US$29,000.  Each of 

you should receive a rebate of US$6,000 within the next two weeks.



3.  Evaluation Schedule



Based on our progress so far in the evaluation of applications, it has 

become clear that we will have to delay the remaining aspects pf the 

evaluation schedule.  As currently posted, it is as follows:



     22 July 2002     - Posting of draft staff report; responses invited.

     1 August 2002    - Deadline for applicant responses to draft staff report.

     8 August 2002    - Posting of Final Staff Report and Recommendation.

     Late August 2002 - Board decision on selection.



We are assessing what delays are necessary to each of these dates to 

allow for the performance of the evaluation in the high-quality manner 

for which we are striving.  Our present estimate is that each of the 

above dates will be delayed by multiple weeks.  We will provide a more 

definite, revised schedule in the very near future.
