Output Devices
FILM & RC PAPER
Our large format dedicated film imagesetter is a Heidelberg Herkules Pro with Delta RIP. It can image a maximum area of 21.5" x 29.5" including printer marks. The recommended resolutions and line screens are:
1270 dpi - 85, 100 lpi
1693 dpi - 85, 100, 120 lpi
2540 dpi - 120, 133, 150, 175 lpi
3386 dpi - 175, 200, 225, 250, 275 lpi
5080 dpi - 275, 300, 325, 350, 400 lpi
Our smaller capstan imagesetter is a Varityper 6000. It has a page width of 13.3" maximum including printer marks. The recommended resolutions and line screens are:
1200 dpi - 85, 100 lpi
2400 dpi - 120, 133, 150, 175 lpi
Our dedicated RC paper imagesetter is a Varityper 4000/5300. It has a page width of 12" maximum including printer marks. The recommended resolutions and line screens are:
1200 dpi - 85, 100, 120 lpi
2400 dpi - 85, 100, 120, 133 lpi
Digital Printing
Short Run/Comps/Proofs/Large Format
Xerox Splash/Doc40
Our Splash/Doc40 Digital Printer prints 1 or 2 sided CMYK pages, as well as, simulated spot colors. The three (3) page sizes are 12" x 18" (Full Bleed tabloid), 11" x 17" (tabloid) and 8.5" x 11" (letter). The Splash/Doc40 can print on a wide variety of types and weights of paper. Three (3) paper stocks are inventoried in-house: 28# text wt.; 65# cover wt. (matte); and 80# cover wt. (gloss).
Canon CLC 500
Our CLC 500 prints continuous tone, 400 dpi, 4-color (CMYK) pages. The two page sizes are I I" x 17" (tabloid) and 8.5" x 11" (letter). The non-printable margin is 0.375" (3/8") on all four sides.
3M Rainbow Digital Proof
Our 3M Rainbow is a continuous tone, 4-color (CMYK),
dye-sublimation printer. The paper is a special thick, glossy stock. (adhesive backed material is available) The printable area is a full 11 x 17 with bleed.
Bigfoot Poster
Both of Precision’s ‘Bigfoot’ output devices are LaserMaster DisplayMaker printers. They are 4-color (CMYK), diffusion dot, ink jet plotters. The paper is a 36" wide glossy stock. (outdoor, adhesive backed, goldtone, silver, and translucent material is available) Length is limited only by the complexity of the file. We recommend allowing a 1/2" margin on each side leaving a printable width of 35".
Super Bigfoot
Our “Super Bigfoot” output device is a ColorSpan
wide-gamut-color (8 ink jets) diffusion dot, ink jet plotter capable of printing on 62" wide stock. Currently we output a printable width of 59". Length is limited only by complexity of the file.
